The Arctic is 'screaming' - Arctic sea ice reduced by 50% in the last 4 years!

Wleed Abdalati, from NASA said "At this rate, the Arctic Ocean could be nearly ice-free at the end of summer by 2012, much faster than previous predictions."

Mark Serreze, senior scientists at a snow and ice date centre in the US, said Greenland's ice sheet melted nearly 19billion tonnes more than the previous high mark last year.

Our aim is to provide you with all you need to make the right choices in every aspect of your life - buying goods that have been fairly traded, eating healthily and what to consider when booking your holiday. Big business likes to spread false information - we're here to separate the wheat from the chaff and keep the wool from your eyes.

The Woollyeyes website will provide ‘cost impact ratings’ (CIR) which demonstrate the impact that the production of a good has on the environment. For example, a T-shirt’s supply chain would be analysed to identify the source and sustainability of the cotton (where possible), the associated costs of transportation to the production line, the additional effect of transportation right through to the shop floor and the social impact of the process on the producers at each stage. The site’s ‘sustainability trade index’ (STI) also gives advice on factors to consider when deciding on a purchase and uncovers ‘the Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ manufacturers and suppliers according to their ethical credentials.
