About Us
Every time you click on a link and or purchase something through one of our online partners, not only do you make a saving in some cases but some of the profit made by the partner will be paid to us enabling us to help our users to becoming more aware about the effects of their consumerism to the world we all share.
How? Initially we hope to be able to point people in the right direction to find the information they need to make the right choices, and once we have gained their trust, we will ourselves become information providers and the source of all their ethical needs. People really do want to be able to make ethical purchases, lead ethical lives and create a better future for their children but with so many scattered options they feel lost amidst the morass of niche websites, so it is our stated goal to provide them with a single window through which they can safely and successfully achieve this.
Our first project has been in creating our “Ethical Shopping Guide”
Background. Woollyeyes is the brainchild of Amin Saleem, the creator and CEO of the award-winning AutoeBid online reverse-auctions website. With the sustainability of global resources in the forefront of the minds of the new generation, there is scope for a totally new standard of business which bases its model on ethical acceptability rather than maximising profits. The future belongs to those who are willing to help others, rather than to simply help themselves.
Goals: To create a space for consumers to become more informed about the effects of their consumption on the world. To then empower them to be able to purchase the right product at the right price whilst helping the environment at the same time.
• Encourage the fair treatment of all workers, their working conditions throughout the supply chain.
• We are in it for the long term and not interested in making a quick profit.
• While we are not a charity we aim to only retain a 50% share of net profits – as a business we will be ploughing all profits over this figure back into new projects for sustainable growth around the word.
• We also seek to create political change around the world by investing in encouraging people to use politics for better change and creating/infiltrating lobby groups.
• Commerce will be used to directly or indirectly help consumers and businesses to reduce their impact on the environment.
• The idea is to engage the masses in a socio-economic-thought revolution, to actually change the way in which people perceive their everyday shopping habits.
• A Sustainability Trade Index will provide advice on all matters pertaining to the purchase of goods for both individuals and businesses, and will rate manufacturers and suppliers according to their ethical credentials.
• Woollyeyes will provide an ideal platform not just for the trading of goods but also the exchange of ideas via our open-source area which allows users to post articles related to our theme and comment on each others’ posts (moderated).
• To help poor and marginalized groups to develop skills and sustainable livelihoods.

I admire someone that takes the pride you have and with your projecton of information. oSo when i actually do sit down to read material, I appreciate well written and organized blogs like this one. I have it bookmarked and will be back. Thanks.
I had some difficulty viewing the website in Safari on Linux, but apart from that loved the site!
